Oxygen-Enrichment and Oxygen-Rich – OXYGEN FIRE SAFETY RULES APPLY

OXYGEN-RICH (24% oxygen or greater) accumulates in the gas space between the water surface and livewell lid. Oxygen fire safety rules apply. 24% Oxygen Concentration or Greater are Oxygen-Enrichment or Oxygen-Rich environments.

Oxygen Mixture Classifications

The CGA defines oxygen-enriched mixtures or atmospheres as any mixture of atmosphere containing 24% oxygen or greater. Fire ignition reactivity precautions and handling rules for oxygen-enriched environments 24% – 100% oxygen apply.

CAUTION: Oxygen-enriched gas mixtures must be handled with all the fire safety precautions as pure 100% oxygen environments. The chemistry and fire hazard of oxygen are very different than air environments.
